Abuja herbalist hospitalised after shooting self while testing ‘bulletproof’ charm
A herbalist has been hospitalised after shooting himself in the stomach while testing the effectiveness of a self-made ‘bulletproof’ charm.
It was gathered that the herbalist, identified as Ismail Usman, sustained life-threatening injuries.
The incident occurred on November 23, 2024, in Kuchibuyi Village, Abuja. FCT police command spokesperson disclosed in a statement that Usman was rushed to the hospital by officers from the Byazhin Division who responded to a distress call made by one Shandam Michael.
“He was quickly transported to Kubwa General Hospital for emergency treatment and later transferred to Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital for further care.
In the aftermath, police conducted a thorough search of Usman’s home, recovering the homemade g¥n and an array of charms used in his reckless experiment.
Investigations are ongoing, and Usman is expected to face charges for unlawful possession of firearms and attempted suicide under Section 231 of the Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria,” she added.
