Woman, one other arrested over incident involving 5-year-old stepdaughter.
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has arrested a woman, Ihsanatu Shaaibu, along with another unnamed suspect, for allegedly abusing her five-year-old stepdaughter, Fa’iza Bala, and causing severe injuries.
The arrests were made on Thursday, January 9, after a video of the incident went viral on social media.
According to a statement from the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, shared on his verified social media accounts, the suspects are in custody and will face prosecution after investigations are completed.
“In relation to the viral video where a woman identified as Ihsanatu Shaaibu physically ab+sed and caused grievous injuries to her stepdaughter Fa’iza Bala, a 5 year old.
The Suspects have been arrested today, Thursday 9th Jan 2025, and will be prosecuted as soon as investigations are concluded. We will keep you abreast of the proceedings,” the statement reads.
