Ghanaian Student passes away in Canada 4 months after arriving, following an unfortunate incident.
Alfred Okyere, a 23-year-old Ghanaian student who moved to Canada 4 months ago was tragically stabbed to death while working part-time at DSI Underground Canada, a mining supply company in Saskatoon.
According to CBC News, Alfred came to Canada as an international student with hopes of building a better life. He lived with his sister & recently started the job to support his education.
“Like many students, he was working hard to make ends meet while pursuing his studies,” said his friend Alexander Osei-Owusu. On Monday night, Saskatoon police responded to a call at DSI Underground around 8 p.m. CST.
They found Alfred suffering from stab wounds. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after. The police have yet to release further details about the incident or the suspect.
This tragedy has left his family & friends devastated as they mourn a young man who had dreams of a brighter future.
