Kompany’s Burnley relegated to Championship after losing 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur

Burnley have been relegated from the Premier League after a 2-1 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur, who resuscitated their top-four hopes.

The Clarets needed a victory to remain in with a chance of surviving, and put themselves in the driving seat after Jacob Bruun Larsen opened the scoring.

However, it was all Spurs from then on and Pedro Porro’s bullet strike gave his side the equaliser before the break.

Defender Mickey van de Ven then wrapped up the three points for Ange Postecoglou’s men with a cool finish to confirm Burnley’s relegation to the Championship.
