Plot

After a huge disaster, Australia is mostly a dangerous place with radiation, but the Green Place of Many Mothers still has water and crops. Raiders find the Green Place while Furiosa and her sister Valkyrie are there. Furiosa tries to mess up their bikes, but they catch her and take her to their leader, Warlord Dr. Dementus. Furiosa’s mom Mary tries to save her, but she can’t stop the last raider from telling Dementus where the Green Place is.

That night, Mary sneaks into the camp and saves Furiosa, but they’re pursued by the Biker Horde. Mary stays behind to help Furiosa escape, but instead of running away, Furiosa goes back to her mom. Unfortunately, Dementus catches them both. He makes Furiosa watch as he crucifies Mary. Dementus then claims Furiosa as his daughter, haunted by the loss of his own family. He hopes she’ll lead him to the Green Place. While captive, Furiosa tattoos a star map to the Green Place on her arm to remember how to get there.

After getting a tip from a stranded War Boy, Dementus and his crew head to the Citadel, another settlement with water and crops. But they’re pushed back by Immortan Joe, the Citadel’s leader, and his army, the War Boys. So, Dementus switches gears and captures Gastown instead, a place that gives the Citadel fuel for water pumps.

In peace talks, Dementus demands control over Gastown and more supplies from the Citadel. He offers Joe his doctor and Furiosa in return. Joe locks up Furiosa with his other wives, hoping she’ll have his baby when she’s older.

Furiosa escapes when Immortan Joe’s son, Rictus, tries to rape her. Disguised as a mute teenage boy, she works her way up the ranks of Joe’s men for over a decade and helps build the “War Rig”, a heavily armed supply tanker that can withstand raider attacks in the lawless Wasteland. During one such attack, the Rig’s crew are nearly wiped out; the Rig’s commander, Praetorian Jack, and Furiosa are the only survivors. Furiosa attempts to steal the Rig and drive back to the Green Place, but Jack easily thwarts her. However, Jack recognizes her potential, and she is promoted to the rank of Praetorian. He offers to train her to escape the Citadel if she helps him rebuild his crew. Eventually, the two fall in love and resolve to run away together one day.

Immortan Joe decides to attack Gastown because Dementus messed it up. He sends Jack and Furiosa to get weapons from the Bullet Farm. But Dementus ambushes them, taking over the Bullet Farm first. Furiosa and Jack barely escape, but Furiosa’s arm gets badly hurt, and Jack has to leave their truck behind. Dementus catches up and kills Jack. To survive, Furiosa cuts off her injured arm, letting go of her last link to the Green Place. She goes back to the Citadel, where a mysterious person watches from afar. Later, there’s a big war, and most of Dementus’s gang gets wiped out.

After losing her partner and her way back home, Furiosa shaves her head and gets a mechanical arm. She hunts down Dementus, the leader of the remaining gang, all by herself. After a long chase, she finds Dementus weak and thirsty in the desert. When she confronts him, he’s surprised to see her. Furiosa wants revenge for what he’s done to her, but Dementus reminds her of his own losses. Despite this, Furiosa decides not to kill him but instead takes him back to the Citadel as punishment.

For her bravery, Immortan Joe promotes Furiosa to a high rank and gives her a new truck. She meets Joe’s wives, and they plan their next move together. In the end, they hide in Furiosa’s truck, getting ready for another journey.
