Bruno Fernandes’s magic offers fresh Europa League hope to Manchester United
Bruno Fernandes scored a brace, including a brilliant second goal, to give Manchester United a crucial victory in the race for the Premier League’s top six.
On a day when rivals on that front Newcastle lost to Crystal Palace, Fernandes proved the key difference by scoring a penalty and a fine strike from 30 yards at Old Trafford.
It was another far-from-convincing display from Ten Hag’s side although victory moved United into sixth place to keep them in the hunt for a European qualifying spot.
Time is nearly up for Sheffield United who have only 16 points from 34 games and could be relegated at the weekend.
