Chelsea in talks with Napoli over a season-long loan for Victor Osimhen

Chelsea and Napoli are in discussions for both Osimhen and Romelu Lukaku, who is expected to head in the opposite direction.

Chelsea want rid of Lukaku after making him available for transfer but have yet to find a club that are willing to match their asking price of £37million.

Napoli are the most interested in the Belgian, who could reunite with former coach Antonio Conte.

The two helped Inter Milan to Serie A glory in 2021 and Conte has made him his top target but it will depend on whether or not Osimhen leaves the club.

Lukaku has already agreed a pay cut and a three-year contract to move to Naples.

Chelsea are in the market for a striker but have no intention in paying Osimhen’s release clause, which reportedly stands at £110m.

Now the two clubs are in talks over a loan deal that includes an option to buy.

Napoli would prefer any loan with option to have an obligation that could be triggered in addition, based on Chelsea qualification for the Champions League.
