Kano agency suspends Kennywood actress Samha Inuwa over ‘indecent dressing’

The Kano State Censorship Board has suspended prominent Kannywood actress, Samha M. Inuwa, from participating in films for one year, citing concerns over her attire and online behavior.

According to a statement by Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, the board’s Information Officer, the decision was made following complaints from citizens about the actress’s “revealing dress and pr+vocative videos.”

The board noted that despite multiple warnings regarding her “crude dressing, vulgar displays, and inappropriate language” in some of her videos, Samha continued to flout the guidelines.

The board stressed that her actions violated established cultural and moral standards. As part of the disciplinary action, her licence has been revoked, and the board will no longer censor any films in which she features.

“The Kano State Censorship Board is legally mandated to ensure that all forms of media—videos, writings, and other expressions—adhere to the religious, cultural, and moral values of the state,” the statement read.
