Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft intercepts vessels bound for Europe; 19 suspected Stowaways arrested.

The Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft has successfully intercepted 19 suspected stowaways aboard two vessels heading to Europe, namely the MT KRITI RUBY and MT MCC YANBU.

This information was disclosed in a statement by the Base Information Officer, Lieutenant Hussaini Ibrahim.

Initial investigations indicate that the stowaways boarded the ships at night, hiding in the rudder compartment in an attempt to illegally migrate to Europe.

On Friday, December 20, 2024, the first 15 suspected stowaways were transferred to the Nigeria Immigration Service at the Lagos State Port/Marine Command in Apapa for further investigation and appropriate action. The remaining four stowaways will be handed over shortly.
