Nigerian soldier Punished by Senior Officer in Taraba State Army Battalion
A Nigerian Army soldier, Lance Corporal Samuel P., has allegedly suffered severe abuse at the hands of a senior officer in the 93 Battalion, Taraba State.
SaharaReporters reports that the incident occurred on January 12, 2025, at around 8:10 a.m., during preparations for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day parade in Jalingo.
Sources revealed that LCpl Samuel P. arrived late for the gathering, prompting Lieutenant B. Mohammed to reprimand him.
A video obtained shows the officer ordering the soldier to perform “forward rolls” as punishment before taking a stick from Sergeant Steven and flogging him.
A photo obtained on Friday showed the soldier’s leg bandaged and soaked in blood, offering visual evidence of the alleged assault.
