Protest erupts in Enugu State after a police officer allegedly kills popular performer Okezie Igboja Ogene

He was allegedly shot on Friday night while performing with his team at an event for the anti-cult police division. Eyewitnesses claim that during the event, a police officer accidentally discharged his weapon, fatally wounding Okezie. Another eyewitness alleges that he was shot multiple times by the police officer.

Reports further allege that the police officers transported his body to a hospital without informing his family. As of the time of this report, youths have taken to the streets in protest over Okezie’s tragic death.
