Dangote doubles wealth to $27.8bn, now only African on world’s top 100 richest persons’ list

Dangote’s net worth has surged by 100%, reaching $28 billion, thanks to the start of operations at his refinery, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

The refinery, located in the Lekki Free Trade Zone in Lagos, is the world’s largest single-train oil refinery and can process various types of crude oil.

Bloomberg on Thursday, October 17, highlighted that: “The refinery has the potential to transform Nigeria’s economy by making the country self-sufficient in fuel production. And it has more than doubled his net worth to $27.8 billion.”
